BIOGRAPHY

Soprano, Lisa Flanagan's roles include Tosca, Mimi and Musetta(La Boheme), Marguerite (Faust),

Cio-cio San (Madama Butterfly), Third Norn (Gotterdammerung), First Lady (The Magic Flute). She performed in the revival of Victor Herbert's operetta Orange Blossoms and recorded the cast album.  She is a regular performer at Symphony Space, singing in their Bloomsday celebrations, Wall to Wall festivals (Stravinsky; Opera; Broadway) Thalia Follies and 30th Anniversary Gala Celebration.  

 

Anthony Tommasini of the New York Times praised her rendition of Stravinsky's early songs as "sensitively performed" in the Wall to Wall Stravinsky.  

 

Lisa earned her bachelor and master of music at Boston University.  She has worked with highly regarded professionals including Audrey Saint-Gil, Sheila Kibbe, John Beeson, Andrea Huber, Beth Greenberg, and Maestros J. David Jackson, Christopher Fecteau, Scott Jackson Wiley, Gerald Steichen and John Yaffe.  She's performed in Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Regina Opera, Light Opera of New York and the Siena Music Festival.

 

She is a student of Dr. Michael Warren.

Her improvised opera, La Donna Improvvisata, was praised as "one of FringeNYC 2014's most innovative theatrical formats!" Lisa has toured La Donna in festivals across the United States.

 

StageBuddy declared La Donna Improvvisata as "long form improv at its best from a performer with a wonderfully trained voice, keen sense of story structure, and seemingly instinctual ability to create compelling characters out of nothing."
